I agree on the sidelining of Ginny. In particular the scene from the book, where Harry sneeks out under the magic cloak to be killed by Voldemort, and passes Ginny who is comforting a young girl without revealing himself, is very much missing. Apart from that, there are 3 scenes in the film where Ginny shows her care for Harry: In the Great Hall, when she steps in front of him; the Kiss; and when she wants, crying, to rush to Harry’s “dead” body.

  2. As far as Ginny is concerned, her development as a character is lacking throughout the entire movie series. There’s almost a total lack of chemistry between Jenny and Harry, so their relationship is not that believable. Not sure why that is…whether it’s the way the part was played or the adaptation of the book to the screen.

Regardless, the second Deathly Hallows movie is my fave, and I doubt I would have predicted that going in.

You’re right in that the cinematography was beautiful. I love the way the movie “looks”.
