3949 Apartments Fire

Yesterday evening (July 17), the 3949 Apartments located on Lindell Blvd near the SLU campus burned down. The 197-unit complex, home to many SLU students, was stated as “destroyed” by management on their Facebook page, with all current and future leases being canceled. Residents who are SLU students are invited to temporary housing in Marguerite Hall and should contact Residence Life at 314-977-2811 or DPSSS at 314-977-3000 for more information.

LIVE Coverage of Tonight’s SGA Meeting

We will be providing LIVE coverage of the SGA meeting at 5:00 PM tonight (12/7) on SLU-TV, campus channel 22. Earlier this week, SLU Housing and Residence Life sent out an email that reviewed recent updates to campus security and announced upcoming changes to the staffing of residence hall front desks. The changes include leaving the front desks of smaller residence halls (those not in the Griesediek complex or Reinert) unstaffed from 9 am to 5 pm, and having student workers cover the overnight shifts of all residence halls, rather than security guards. As many students have voiced concerns about these changes, SGA will be allotting time during their meeting tonight to hear these opinions. We encourage you to watch our coverage this evening to hear what SGA and students have to say about this and other issues.

Note: Due to a studio conflict, the live video will not be available on our online stream.
